Yeesh, maybe i was playing it through the wrong cab, but it sounded like a solid state overdrive button on a practice amp. I was using some crate 4X12? I suppose that could be part of the problem, but I was utterly revolted!
What are they supposed to sound like? I've only heard it in the store (through the crate cab) and on youtube vids, through those really nice built in mics on video cameras.

12you should not buy an orange tiny terror because that amp also doesn't know how to use the search function so it can't teach you how to either.

13Can you get any kind of clean sound out of one of these things? Also, how is the low-end response?

It's true and also extra disappointing 'cause most white boxes w/ orange trim can...

15I love my Orange Tiny Terror. I got it slightly modded by this guy:
http://juleamps.com/the_amps/terror.html
Because I was having issues with some sort of wiring, and someone suggested to me on the Orange board that the mod fixes things like that, and it did!
Like Steve said, it's a one trick pony, but it's a very, very good trick.
I used mine in a studio hooked up to an Orange 4x12 cab loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s and man it sounded awesome.

A) not really
B) really good. Better with the mod, but mostly really good. Better than my Vox AC30 (though something in general is wrong with my Vox)

17I believe that they were made in two different factories (first in Korea, more recently in China, if I recall correctly). Have there been any reports of differences between the two models? I would presume that since they're largely machine-built with components the variation would be minimal but one never knows if there were redesigns introduced etc.

I have one of the Korean ones-the earlier models also have the 'STBY' setting in the middle of the 'ON/OFF' switch, which I think they moved across to the '15 WATTS/7 WATTS' switch on later models as supposedly it's potentially damaging to flip between watts while in use?
Other than that, the Korean models are deemed to be more reliable, but that's speculative and there's no other difference, and not a whole lot with a TT to go wrong really in any case.
As for the case for not buying one, one of the tubes went on mine and I had to replace it. That's the best i've got.

19Our guitarist uses one and loves it. I've heard it through an orange 4x12, a vox 2x12, a rivera 1x12 and a musicman 2x10 and it's sounded pretty great through all those options. it stands up to our other guitarists AC50 and my v4b if we don't go overboard with our volumes. he uses it in his studio for almost all guitar.
