Puter Game: Psychonauts.

Yeah, the ideas are pretty original, but the game is far from being great. A lot of the ideas seem tacked on/unnecessary (which is why it might seem 'quirky'), which would be all right if the execution was up to snuff, but it wasn't and the game feels merely quaint rather than miraculous, which it should have been.

Other than the milkman level, I didn't find the humour particularly funny (and found myself groaning more than usual for Tim Schafer), but maybe I was in a bad mood.

As a video game, for being original and taking chances, not crap (mostly because it's Tim Schafer), but it's wildly overrated by those people who say it's underrated.

Also, "MY FACE!" "OW!" "HEY THAT HURTS!" "MY FACE!" "MY FACE!" "RAAAAAAAAAAAAASPUTIN."

Most of the funniest stuff in the game is easily missed the first time you play through it. You can talk and have conversations with the other campers before the tutorial, and Crispin Whitehead has long dialogue that you can easily by-pass by just curing the asylum in-mates before you even meet him.

My favorite part of the game is optional - long rambling conversations with the poker dogs in the Flamenco level.

I think the Milkman level gets talked up the most because it is one of the few parts of the game that sound cool without giving spoilers. Ford Krueller and Goggleor were just as funny, only spoil-able. G-Men baking pies cannot be spoiled.
