i have my grandpa's banjo that needs to be restrung really bad as the strings are ancient...and there's one string that's totally busted and just flails around and my old cat Bill used to swat at that string and inadvertently hit the other ones and pluck the hell out of them...

i miss that cat...

Yeah the bit of unused string above the nut is our cat's favourite.

If you hit a note on the high E string and slide up and down the fretboard she'll follow it for hours. Looks like she's watching tennis!

Not crap. What exactly is a cat supposed to do? Should the cat gently strum the strings? No. It's not cat-like.

Gentle strumming is for lower forms of life like worms and Dave Matthews.
