I'm listening to Van Der Graaf Generator, I just don't like it. It's like most of the original prog bands just toss in unnecessary vocals, and synths like it's required. I like newer prog bands like Dysrhythmia, or Upsilon Acrux.

Lamb Lies Down on Broadway > Closer to the Edge > Permanent Waves > Tarkus
....not that I have a steady diet of any of it.
The Genesis album does get a spin at least monthly.

Genesis, Yes, Rush and ELP.
I'm one of those weirdo's that actually likes some Genesis. Lamb Lies Down..., Trick of the Tail, Duke and Abacab are all okay at times. Iactually like Phil Collins' voice and drumming style.
The Fragile album by Yes is the only one I can really listen to at all.
I only like Tom Sawyer and Red Barchetta when it comes to Rush. When I was a kid (eighth grade) I liked 'em a lot. The Rush lyrics thread is a great read.
ELP I never really got into at all.
When I got into punk rock I didn't listen to any of this shit for like ten years at least but now some of it is okay. I'm no prog dude though.

Yes, but did any of those other bands make a rock opera about an armadillo tank? I don't think so...
