Guitar mic question

Have you tried sticking a 57 somewhere on the rear of the amp? This always works well with open back cabs. Any of the above mentioned mics are nice and could be used all over the place in your studio...assuming you need them for vocals, etc. But, if you're only looking to record a guitar amp, then there's nothing wrong with a pair of 57's or a 421/57 combo.
Yeah, the Royer's are killer, but over a grand USD.
I know guys complain about the 57 on guitar cab. Especially Bob and Steve, but you know, they aren't bad....and cheap.
