It is a rough, modern interpretation of a Guinea Coast Creole English folk song about the invasion and subsequent colonization of African lands by white Europeans, specifically the English. Originally the song was sung by a male tribal elder to young children during social gatherings or festivals. I am fairly certain Buzz came across a variation of the song when he was stationed in Surinam during his four years in the Peace Corps.
