I saw this book yesterday in Meijers. It was nestled between "Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About" and large print bibles.

I don't think that serious people are going to consider this book.

PS I agree that Obama is not a perfect candidate but I do acknowledge that Dennis Kucinich was probably unelectable.

As for the faith-based initiatives complaint, he's already made it clear that he supports expanding them ONLY contingent on changing the rules for them that Bush had in place; rules that not surprisingly allowed for too little oversight in how the money was used and in ensuring that state money was not being used for proselytizing.

I'm not saying that Obama's all-too predictable centrism doesn't bother me, but there's very little difference when compared with Dem candidates in the past. They all did it.

The FISA vote bothers me way more than any of the rest of it.

I am heartened to see Obama supporters are recognizing the absurdity and betrayal of expectations raised by his leftist pandering during the primary campaign. It was always horseshit, and some chose to let it ride.

Now please go vote for him. Especially if you don't live in Illinois. Or we are all fucked again.

Oh, I agree with you 100%. I'm just sick of giving Democratic candidates my vote because it's better than the alternative. After 8 years of the Bush Administration, now would be the perfect time for the Democrats to grow a pair and they pressed the FAIL--NO TESTICLES button instead.

The FISA vote was the turning point where I lost all respect for Obama. That went beyond leaning centrist to appease voters and into WTF? territory. He had the perfect opportunity to use his prominent position to shine light on something that's just completely wrong and unjustified, and he chose the cowardly path instead and quietly voted for something that I think even most of the country's Republicans would be against if they understood it better.

Obama said he is running for president of the US, that means everyone. That means right and left. He said that he is not going to be arrogant and refuse to work on some things that are important to a lot of people because he himself might not see those same things in exactly the same light. He said it's a difficult balancing act and neither side will be fully happy but he's willing to try things in a different way.

So, you see this stuff happening like I do and may not be happy but try and think of it in those terms. A president, a good one anyway....one like we have not had in my lifetime is not just democrat or republican of the united states, they are president. Leader to both sides. We just had 8 years of REPUBLICAN president not at all worried about what half the country thinks or wants. I doubt 8 years of DEMOCRAT president would yield much better results. Shit's a mess.
I am willing to give him a shot. He gives that side a little, we get a little. Back and forth. This may work.
