Sorry for the knee jerk reaction of my earlier post.

It just seems like posts along the lines of "fuck kill marry", "How many posts does Brad/Twomany.../Tim have, or whatever goofy stuff come down the pipe, etc. are just plain silly. I don't read/post here for silliness.

Sorry to Faiz if I reacted too strongly. I'm not even a sensitive type guy!

Take care all
Ike

Neither of these songs can hold a candle to "How's Your News?". However, I have some thoughts...

"At The Bottom Of The Sea" by The Sharks

I really like the idea of a group of retarded guys calling themselves The Sharks and performing a rap song about scuba divers and underseas McDonald's restaurants.

"Filet-O-Fish! Filet-O-Fish!"

I am charmed by this group.

What's particularly striking about this song is how much it sounds like many other "professionally" recorded and released rap songs. I could have easily mistaken this song for a De La Soul song. I'm not completely sure what that says about The Sharks, De La Soul or rap music generally, but I have a pretty good idea.

"Turkey Time" by Special Music for Special People

This song is terrible. Is this a remake of an Alannah Myles song?

And getting a bunch of retarded people to sing "Gobble! Gobble! Gobble! Gobble!"

Wtf?

This music is not "special" -- except in a completely patronizing sense. Assuming that the participants had no real "choice" in deciding whether or not to take part in this song (which is, of course, an offensive assumption on my part), I'd say that it was unfair and borderline cruel behavior on the part of the person who coordinated this song.

Thoughts?

yes, i believe this says that you and the fella singing the song should get together because you obviously have a lot in common.

I don't know what this comment means.

People,

Hows Your News? is an amazing (not ironic in any sense) film. Don't pass judgement till you see it for yourself. It's a show of true and sincere human spirit, something that I find tremendously lacking these days.

The death metal band playing a home for retarded people is none other than Retarded Christmas. I've seen it in it's entirety many times. The band is Gobstopper, from Tampa, FL. The story is their drummer got arrested and had to do some community service - which turned into his band playing a Christmas party for a group home. This will blow your mind. There is not much that can compare to a metal band screaming about fucking corpses and people flailing around, belly bonking, requesting New Kids On the Block and Elvis, and dancing with an ALF doll.

If you are offended maybe you should check yourself first. Life is crazy. Human nature is what is. Don't be afraid to enjoy it.

The CRAMPS - Live @ State Hospital Napa, CA (1978)

Pretty sweet... I'm not a huge fan of The Cramps, but this is worth seeing.

This American Life interviewed a number people involved in the movie.

You can watch it here (Real Player format) or, if that doesn't work, go to This American Life and search on Bradford.
