11i have the problem. it's expensive. flatwounds in guitar, luckily, still sound great after 1-2 months of abuse. escept the first unwound strings.
so yeah, i'm a pussy.

I used to break the D string on my bass every two weeks. Went to the luthier, he said that the saddle are too sharp for the strings, he fixed that and I don't break strings anymore.
My problem is not breakage, but corrode-age. Simply no longer bright, very plunky, always in need of changing.
