I think first and foremost smoking is bad obviously. Also if smoking is bad for people, then it is obviously not good for unborn babies.

Another thing to think about though is in the and 40's and 50's etc, doctors thought the placenta was a barrier to protect the baby from "bad" things. So pretty much every woman who was prego pretty much smoked (because of the weight control idea), and some drank. Babies were born perfectly healthy way more times than not.

I know women who have been prego and smoked for most or all of the pregnancy. Babies were born perfectly healthy.

Both my parents mothers smoked. Parents are healthy.

I think a lot of women who smoke while prego, and have a baby with health issues also are doing other shit as well.

Would I give a prego a fag? hmmmm....I can not really say.
I believe in people should make there own choices.
I also would be worried or guilty if the baby was born unhealthy and I catered to it.

This is a tough one. I prob would talk to her about it. She probably would not want to and walk away anyway.

Something seems wrong about enabling someone's nicotine addiction if there's an even somewhat chance of it permanently fucking up a human's life from birth. I'm very pro choice and yes I know they can just buy a pack of their own, etc., but I couldn't give a pregnant girl a cigarette without feeling like a scumbag.

I voted No, but, I have done this. a friend's wife was 4 months pregnant, had just graduated from college was at a BBQ, watching everyone drink, smoke, and be crazy, she asked me for one. I asked if she was sure, she said yes. So I gave it to her, she had half a smoke with a watered down glass of wine. My buddy didn't care. He knew that little bit would not harm the baby.

A prego having one or two smokes over the course of her pregnancy is NC.

A prego actively Smoking is CRAP! No Waffles.
