Cheers,

12I always put something on before I go to bed- Do Make Say Think, Ativin, Tortoise, Low, those are all good sleepy choices. The last DMST record is also good to listen to during/after one of our famous monsoons.
I tried listening to the new Mastodon before bed the other night- didn't work so well.

13I work as a programmer, so I pipe music into my headphones all day. I even have different genres for debugging, designing, testing etc. Instrumental music works way better for coding than anything else - the human voice is ultra-distracting unless I am very familiar with the album already. I also listen to music during my drive to and from work.

14Ears, speakers.
Also - sometimes with tiny speakers right close to my ears.

15I listen on headphones at work a lot, but if I have to focus on some kind of work that requires data-processing, I find it hard to listen to music because I will always focus on the music by default.
i don't like the car that well, because i like to be in the middle of the stereo field. i sometimes pan it like 2/3 to the left, but it's still not the same.
I sometimes find listening to portable music devices in public pretty annoying when the street/train/bus is too noisy for me to hear well. Besides, the street has its own music.
favorite is at home, either in a comfortable place or working on some project with my hands that doesn't require a lot of thought.
Once my neighbor got me stoned, impromptu. I don't get stoned very often these days, and ended up retreating to my apartment and sitting in a chair right in front of my (quasi)hifi for an hour, by myself, taking in a sonic youth record. 'twas a good listen. i felt like i was seventeen again, except I was geekily parsing the production on the record the whole time. whoa dude, like, totally yeah and stuff.
i am a fan of afternoon napping music.

'NYC Ghosts and Flowers' probably sounds like the greatest record of all time if yr stoned.

17here in the cube farm, it's headphones. sometimes in the lab i can play music through a radio, but not very often. only if it's a weekend or quiet music, neither of which happen very often.
since i drive a lot, i listen to music in the car a lot. it's one of the few things that keeps me from losing my shit while sitting in traffic everyday.
my favorite thing to do is to sit in my room on sunday mornings/afternoons, drink coffee, listen to metal on headphones, and stare out the window. it doesn't bother the roommate/neighbors, and it's nice to be completely immersed like that.
idealy, the best thing to do (as has already been mentioned) is to sit in the sweet spot on the couch and crank vinyl. mmm....vinyl...

That was the record I listened to! Holy shit!
And yes, I'll say again that I really enjoyed it. Except that last track which was a disaster, evident even to my baked ass.

19One thing I'll do if I'm trying to really understand the ins and outs of a song, is listen to it and imagine I'm playing it. Sometimes I end up doing that all day, to everything that I hear.
