Oh boy, I was just getting ready to buy some RMGi, I have some BASF 911 which I've been using for awhile so I figured RMGi 911 was the way to go, but I'll definitely be doing some digging around about these problems with RMGi. Thanks for alerting me!-Barrett

About how many overdubs would you say tape can go through without seriously hurting the frequency response and sound quality? How does tape age? I have a couple old reels that aren't labeled and are seemingly blank. It's strange, they are just in plain white cardboard boxes. I also have two reels of BASF, one of them seems recorded on though. Still new to the tape thing.-Thanks in advance, Wes.

As a follow up.... I went ahead and bought from RMGi, the problems talked about on here are several years old and I think they may have sorted some things out.. I ran a reel the other day (the 1 911 formula) without a single problem. No squealing, sticking or stopping. The response of it was good (much better than the tape I was using from '96), no print through, although it did seem a bit thinner when I was threading it. The heads weren't gunked up at all after about 8 hours of use either. Not telling you to fully trust them, just that things may have gotten better, but also I could have just gotten one of the few good tapes...-Barrett
