Maybe a few good riffs here and there sprinkled amongst their spring years, but 99% CRAP. Just as bombastic as Springsteen or, worse, Bob Segar. Yechhhhhhhhhh.

I can see why many people would hate this band. This hatred is warranted on several accounts. I, however, like this band. Posturers? Sure, knock yourselves out. Originals? Nope. Artistically vacant? Yep, on many occassions. Sincere? Without a doubt...

You can make a case that they have been guilty of one or all of these things. I forgive U2 for their frivolousness. They are sincere in what they do, and that's really all I can ask for. U2 has imbued a significant importance on my life. I like them despite all of the posturing many of you seem to find distasteful. And I shouldn't have to feel guilty for liking them. They speak to me in a way that many of you may not understand, just as I'm sure there are bands that speak to all of you on an emotional level that I fail to grasp.

I vote 'Not Crap.'

Everything before Achtung Baby gets Not Crap.

I can't comment on Bob Segar's music, but I can say without reservation that Bob Seger is infinitely better than U2.
