Jesus shit, i feel as though i need to offset all this bizarre hating on the TMBG.
Everything through Apollo 18 is unequivocably NOT CRAP. Everything since then is hit and miss, although later-day songs like "Dr. Worm" and "Older" are the hot shit.

sure, they've put out a lot of so-so (and occasionally crap) material, but the good outweighs the bad. their finest moments are top-notch, and they've had a lot of fine moments.
my least favorite TMBG songs -- the ones i actually kind hate -- are the ones like "S-E-X-X-Y" wherein they try to pull off their usual thing but stylized in a genre that just doesn't suit them. then again, plenty of underground/angular rock bands think they can play "funky" too and their records are equally retarded, if less overtly.

i used to call the Dial-A-Song daily while I worked at CBM--temped when the Amiga was released-- it was fun, it was '92? I didn't buy Apollo 18.
