Not crap, though it did take me a little bit to get adjusted to the idea of RMSN as a 4-piece.

BTW...*stupid question alert!*

What the shit does the RM stand for in RMSN? My stab at the last two letters is the obvious Shipping News, but I can't for the life of me guess the first two.

Oh & Kyle's beard automatically forgave any missteps they may have had at TG25, though I'd argue that there were none to speak of.

ST: That the great thing about art. You're informed and involved, but there's also this sense of getting away from everything and just being creative. Like your acronym, RMSN. Can you explain that?
JM: Uh. I wish I could.

ST: You're not going to tell me.
JM: [Laughs] RMS is a system that they put on the back of amplifiers, and we just put the "N" on it because it looked more cryptic. But then, by talking to nice people like yourselves who wanted to know the meaning of it, we found out that there is also a Railway Mail Service and News that exists in Britain. So the acronym is tangible, but it's kinda loose. I'm sure if you looked in a book of acronyms you would find it.

ST: Now I just gotta find a book of acronyms.
JM: And you can appropriate it for whatever you want. My friend Naomi came up with, "Real Man Smell Now". Or "Raunchy Mouth Smell Now".

Good Band. Started off great, got worse, mixed in some extra pretentiousness, meandered, lost focus, put out an entire album with only one good song.

Still, I can think of 10 songs of theirs (out of what, 25?) that are great great songs.

(note to the band: I think you can safely cut the boat-sailing-ship fetish. It's really distracting and dumb.)

Not crap.

However, as much as I like Todd on bass, some of their songs sound much better when played as a 3-piece.

"The Human Face," for example, was leaps and bounds better without the extra guitar part.

Maybe Todd should just dance around and yelp periodically like Guy does when Fugazi performs songs from the first EP's?
