Went to the allergist. They took those 34 little needles with different allergens on them and poked me up and down my arms. Wasn't allergic to one of 'em. Not one. Dogs, cats, horses, trees, weeds, you name it. The doctor diagnosed me as being allergic to the pollution in the air. Cigarettes, smog, etc. Smog especially. I live in Southern California. Nice, huh?
Benedryl is the only thing that works sometimes (not all the time), but I'm worthless after that - 'puts me to sleep. Tavist worked good, but I guess it could possibly stop your heart. Maybe I should get back on the stuff... Allegra, Claratin, a gazillion different nose sprays, whatever else; none of it does a darn thing for me. I wake up EVERY morning with hay fever, and suffer for about an hour of trying to breathe. If it goes away after that, I'll probably be okay - if not, I'll have hay fever the rest of the day. I've gone 4 and 5 days straight with hay fever - no let up. EVER. I'm murderous by the end of something like that.
It ain't pretty.

the only thing that has ever wiped out my hayfever is beconase
prescrip-only steroid nasal spray
it KILLS my hayfever. i love it. i don't use it in late fall or winter, but when spring kicks in, i use it once a day through the summer.
i highly recommend it. my mom and sister have had the same results as i have, and we all had baaaad hayfever.

heh.
Anyway, I've been fortunate enough to only be allergic to the cheap perfumes they put in lotions and the like. I just avoid them and remain rash free.

: penecillin, amoxicillin and a few other antibiotics... that's it. Oh... and blink 182, any Eagles song, metallica and cottage cheese all create stomach cramps leading to compulsive vomiting, at times, dry heaving.

I'm allergic to sugar, as of a few months ago. It's the worst with processed sugars, and it is tolerable with fruit. I lose the ability to think clearly and I get very sad and thirsty.

I'm allergic to drugs. I break out in handcuffs.
Seriously, is it possible to develop allergies over time? When I was a kid, I wasn't allergic to anything, but now I start sneezing around cats and dust and other common things... So I think I may have deteriorated my immune system over the years... I do not know...

Yeah, it is very possible. It's also possible to outgrow your allergies too, or for them to weaken, or strengthen, over time.
