Do spammers get paid for spamming or are they like a street team and they get 4 stickers and a signed bus pass?

I'd like to earn money from the copy/paste function dammit. You people and your "morals" have held me back long enough.

I think spammers of this kind tend to be super-keen kids recruited from the band forums and bribed with pencils and boxer-shorts and many-sided dice.

:(

I think if I want to hear Radiohead (which I frequently do), I will put on some Radiohead. Very often people will say that I will like something that sounds like this other something and I say (to myself, no need to offend): "Why sound like something that already sounds like itself?"

Nice Wes Anderson reference, though.

i have a confession. the band actually doesn't sound much like any of the bands that i named. i just know that no one would go listen to it if they didn't hear some bands in the mix that they recognize. i am actually a member of the band, not a spammer and i apologize for interrupting your forum. i just don't know how to get my band out there, i know you will like it if you just listen. whether you do or don't give me your feedback please! please forgive.

If you want to let people know about your little band, then please be straightforward about it.

Wtf?

Hey uzi&ari,

We're just having a little fun at your expense. No blood, no foul. Try putting stuff up at:

http://www.purevolume.com
or
http://www.myspace.com
or
http://www.15megsoffame.com

wholly unobtrusive. Seriously, the best way to "get out there" is to play as many shows as possible. Have an emailing list for people to sign. Play at a bunch of shitty venues, and eventually the nicer places to play become more attainable. It's long and tedious and difficult, but even the smallest victories can be rewarding. Local music radio, college radio/newspapers/etc. Endless possibilities.

gluck.
