Right this second? El Salvador Los Inmortales from Intelligentsia. I also snagged some Ethiopian Sidamo from the CCC training center on Thursday.Booze wise, I usually drink either straight whiskey (bourbon, rye or scotch) or a Manhattan of some variety.Manhattan variants I have known and loved:The Burlington: sweet Manhattan with Urban Moonshine maple bitters instead of AngosturaManhattan East: Rye, ginger liqueur, dry sake and Peychaud's bitters, garnished with orange peel (the color of this drink is amazing)The Upstate: Rye, sweet vermouth, Dubonnet rouge and Ramazzotti Amaro, also garnished with orange peelAlways stirred, never shaken-- James Bond was a pussyAnother trick is to get some Luxardo Maraschino liqueur and some dried bing cherries. Put the cherries in a jar, soak them in the liqueur and voila, pre-Prohibition style maraschino cherries!

Well put, Antero.A nice, big mug of Trader Joe's Joe right now. A little later, as a reward for a minimal amount of domestic chores, my own signature Bloody Mary. I make a damn good bloody.I would enjoy hearing your bloody recipe.

Ty Webb wrote:I hope I don't get kerbled on this. For me? My latest weird favorite is The Yale - 2 parts gin, 1 part dry vermouth, 1/2 part Blue Curacao, liberal dash of bitters. Stir (not shake) vigorously with lots of ice. Get it very cold and pour into a cocktail glass of your choosing. If you use a premiium gin, you get a nicely flavored, balanced, but most importantly, STRONG cocktail with a measure of sophistication. If you don't want the froo-froo color of the Curacao, just use Triple Sec. But the dash of sweet fruit balances the bitters nicely.I didn't know their was a drink named after me.

Just had some Rex Goliath Pinot Noir with dinner, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and about to have a scotch and ginger. I think the scotch is Ballantine's; smells between Johnny Walker Red and Cutty Sark, tastes closer to JW Red. Feeling pretty level at the moment, not getting too saucy, just chit chatting with friends, getting loose.
