I think I saw both of these movies in the same North Raleigh multiplex. Pet Detective is the one that's endured, largely due to the quick, almost laser-guided acting chops of Dan Marino, which provided my friend Keith and I numerous referential yuks well into high school.

I'm the only person at my job who cleans the restrooms. There are times when I want to walk out of them and do the "do not go in there! Woooo!" skit, if only to make my fellow employees lighten up a little bit.

He was never funny. He can do the weepy stuff, though.He's like Robin Williams. Neither one of those motherfuckers should be allowed within a hundred feet of a comedy script; trying to be funny makes them go soft in the head.Make them a cancer patient or a button-down psycho and they do just fine.

Was wondering if there was a thread for Dumb and Dumber when I was thinking about the new one. This'll do. I think he has gone too nuts to be funny anymore. They had Jeff Daniels do the announcement that they were making another movie, for christ's sake.

I liked the first one when I was young. I watched some of it again several years later and it seemed like Carrey was trying way too hard. Dumb and Dumber has held up a little better and probably the only JC comedy I still like.

The rhino scene in the second one still cracks me up. I have pretty much the entirety of the first film memorized (it came out when I was 12, I think) and have no need or desire to ever see it again. Let's give it to When Nature Calls. Why the fuck not.
