HOUSTON_M wrote:"Pride and Joy" is a horribly "manly", half-addled love song. It shows SRV as being both possessive of and dependent on his girl / woman.

What, SRV? Misogynistic? Naaaaaaaahhhhhhh....

I was going to try to make some wisecrack about the helicopter crash being derivative, unoriginal, repetitive, and not doing anything previous helicopter crashes haven't done before. But it isn't 9 yet and I shouldn't try to flirt with something in such poor taste. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends for their loss. As for his fans, though... buy some fuckin' records, people.

Any one of SRV's lowest moments are still ten times better than "Tears In Heaven".

SRV is but one factor as to why I harbor no nostalgia for the time I lived in Austin.

However, he is a signifigant one.

The god-father of mullet blues.

The guy knew how to play guitar, but he doesn't really appeal to me. At all.

The thing about the blues is that it's not supposed to sound sterile.

I'm not sure Stevie Ray ever understood that in the studio.

"Tears In Heaven"

Pffft.

I prefer to call that song "Baby Out The Window Blues"

Not crap (for his guitar playing) WF 6 (for his electric blues), but there's definitely worse bar band blues out there.
