Well, it's pretty dumb to even compare them I suppose. They don't really sound that alike. Both made dark sounding music, but Rodan made much more techinical music (which does not make them better). When compared to Rodan, Slint's music is very simple, and one dimensional. They were both brilliant bands in their own right.
Rodan were influenced by Slint, borrowed some ideas from them, and took it much further to the point that they sound like a totally different band. Every artist has to borrow an idea to start with from another artist/thing, that's just the way it is.

there is no way on earth that rusty is better than spiderland. they shouldnt even be compared, i mean its not that rusty was bad, infact its quite good, but man,, saying its anyewhere NEAR spiderland is heresey.
rodan is still not crap though

You're right. They shouldn't be compared. But since we are, I still enjoy Rusty more than I do Spiderland, although I do enjoy Spiderland alot.

my friend and i got really high once and listened to this record and promply after the last chords faded my friend said:
"that is the most perfect complete thing ive ever experienced."
that just reminded me of that night and made me laugh.

Nothing on Spiderland comes close to touching 'Everyday World of Bodies'.
