2x15 cab (or 2 1x15s) recommendations for guitar and bass?

I found one of these over the winter for super cheap and bought it:http://www.seismicaudiospeakers.com/2x1 ... A-212EmptyMine was already loaded with Jensen Mods, which works well for some of the guitar stuff I do. The guy I bought it from used it for half his bass rig, but I bet even these alone with 2 high powered (at least 200w) efficient 12" speakers (hint: 'bass' and PA speakers are often interchangeable) would sound pretty good for most bass players. At a venue you could always use a line out or DI to help supplement the low end. The construction quality isn't bomb proof but they are super easy to carry. I concluded a while ago that there are no perfect solutions for both guitar and bass. A 2x15 can sound amazing for bass, but is usually big and can be harsh sounding on guitar (unless you're Kyuss and turn down the treble and up the fuzz). A typical guitar 2 or 4x12 with breakup-y speakers works on guitar but then just makes your bass sound like another guitar: flubby and with no true low end.

I've used them in several cabs and they're great.Depending on the cab you might be able to keep 2 of the current guitar speakers and do a 2x12 x 2x12 X pattern thing (in series/parallel). Odds are the current 4x12 speakers aren't 8ohms, but it would be easy to get 2 guitar speakers for what one of these costs. Something like 2 12" Jensen Mod 70s and 2 Delta Pro 12As would give you a 280w 8ohm cab, enough for almost any bass head, certainly any guitar amp. The Deltas would give you the clean highs and lows (and projection) and the guitar speakers would give you the midrange breakup. It would only work if the cab had some depth and mass, but just throwing around ideas..Right now my 4x12 has celestion v30s in it. Doubt I could safely use those with a bass guitar. I got lucky with this beat-to-shit randall guitar center was selling on their used site.

I mean plenty of people do that. I haven't tried a bass 4x12. I've also never found one. I know Peavey made one. The TVX series or something? Are there any people who build single 15 cabs that would be cheaper than Orange or Mesa? I feel like I'd be paying more for the brand with those.

I've used it for both bass and guitar and it sounds fantastic. Not nearly as heavy as other cabs I've used and it has casters. I don't know the model number off hand, but i could find out.My friend/bandmate has an old acoustic 2x15. Didn't come with casters but he put some on it. That thing weighs so much we have trouble carrying it around. Probably because of the old ass heavy 70's speakers in it. It also just has top straps so it's hard to wrangle compared to something with built in handles. Also, how do I find FM Milford? Googling pulls nothing. And also is there even a cheap 12" speaker that'll sound fine with bass and guitar? As far as I know most 12" speakers are made for guitars. Hell I don't even know what a good 15" speaker would be for both.
