if you were to beat the hell out of me, stab me in the throat, and put my nuts in a clamp...i still don't think i could sing an ac/dc song like that guy.

and i don't want to test that theory.

i'm sorry to say this to a thread full of ac/dc fans, but that music is like nails on a chalkboard to me....i don't know anything about them because i've never cared to, but to me, ac/dc is the most horrifying embodiment of rock n' roll ever created.

again, sorry.
CRAP.

Which guy Bon or Brian?

both these guys are great singers

brian johnson is hammered now, but he was always a little underrated

has anyone ever tried to sing that shit? it's basically impossible. screaming at the top of your range, at the top of your lungs.

I actually can get a nice Bon Scott imitation going, close enough to make someone who knows who he is laugh, but after about 30 seconds, you are basically spitting up blood.
But I digress. Please continue with the squirrel circuit semantic debate.

True, before he lost his voice completely he was a powerful, powerful vocalist.

I can't believe this is actually up for a vote - AC/DC defines NOT CRAP.

Back in Black is probably the best sounding record; I was just listening to it last night - a perfect mix, drums, guitars, vocals, in that order and without the vacuum-packed, hyper-compression that makes most new records unlistenable at high volumes.

Highway to Hell has my favorite song ("Beating Around the Bush").

But, I think High Voltage is the greatest.

AC/DC is one of a few bands whose music is sort of impossible to classify into a subgenre beyond Rock (capital 'R'). Not only is it absolutely archetypal, it also transcends virtually every social and economic boundary. Everybody fucking loves AC/DC. Every band has played (or tried to play) their songs at practice. And you will never, ever get your ass kicked for admitting that they are awesome (unless maybe you cite Fly on the Wall as your evidence).

i've always really dug the heavy, heavy intro to 'for those about to rock', but overall the song seems to drag. just sayin.

i also really like the song 'beating around the bush' on highway to hell. that shit is tight. i wonder though why they never persued the more sophisticated material on the jailbreak '74 album. soul stripper is like the most complex ac/dc song ever and it's on one of their first realeses of a 30 year career. i'd like to hear the shit malcolm writes that never appears on the albums.

not crap.
