not crap, but generous waffle factor. there's a lot of boring and what i find to be unlistenable stuff in their/his catalog. as cjh mentioned, those two albums are things of beauty and mesmerizing as anything i've ever heard. the shipwreck series, the whole thing, is wonderful as well.

i attended the first of those shows in SF and was left..deaf. the show was ok, it was just so loud towards the end it was tough to stay in the hall.

what was the deal with those two people walking around looking dead? i laughed.

Can someone tell me where to start with NWW?

Or maybe a list of 8 or 10 essential records?

I love Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella and Soliloquy for Lilith. Both of the splits with Stereolab are stellar.

I like many records off the NWW list, but I have heard only 2 albums off their 6220 album releases. Every blog seems to be filled with their albums. I don't have an opinion about them apart from the fact that I initially intended to leave one. I am not sure whether I like them, but I certainly don't dislike them.

I love Test Dept, there seems to be some kind of harmony or order in all that chaos, but most other industrial bands, I am unable to differentiate (leaving masonna in the 90s) though I love many compilations available from the 80s. & early 90s. High spook factor in many of them.

NWW - not crap, atleast for repping other great artists.

merzbild schwet
homotopy to marie
rock n roll station
salt marie celeste
soliliquy for lillith
sugarfishdrink (comp)
automating, vol. 1(comp)
thunder perfect mind

livin in fear of james last is a fine comp to start with.

the stuff varies so much i'd say hardly anything is essential.

personally i don't like it, but then i don't usually like "just noise." it is the first album so maybe it's worth checking out just to hear "from whence they came" but that's all the value it had for me.

i am eagerly awaiting nurse with wound's upcoming "hip-hop" album. very curious about that.
