I'm curious why some of you found that interview 'depressing'. Is it because he's driving a taxi now or because he's incapable of remorse?

I listened to a few of these in jail today. Thanks.- Host is not that annoying and doesn't talk that much, which is pretty good.- I listened to 3.5 (Albini, Trainer, Allen, Che [.5]), and all sounded live, like no one was phoning in, although the host's questions with Allen sounded overdubbed. - I didn't know that anyone called a drum kit a trap set, and I still don't know what that means, exactly.- Sort of liked hearing about whether or not Albini was self-conscious ”I forget what the phrase was ”but I didn't care to hear about the lucidity of Che's dreams etc., probably because I've never listened to Don Caballero, but also because those kinds of questions remind me of those very popular American radio guys who are obsessed with therapy/psychoanalysis, which just happens not to be my cup of tea.- Teared up when Trainer ”who is super hot, by the way ”described his friend Steve.- Drummers are the most important, obviously, but one wouldn't expect them to be any good at speaking, which is why I'm going to blast the Liz instead of listening to McNeilly have to talk about himself.

I typically give folks the benefit of the doubt, and the dude's drumming had a huge effect on me, so I was really hoping he would own some of his shit, explain, and/or apologize. Instead, he had almost a Donald Rumsfeld-level refusal to engage in that interview. As for the podcast, not crap, but just barely. He interviews some interesting people, but I find him pretty lackluster as an interviewer and host.

Nothing to do with driving a taxi/lack of remorse. rather than whether Damon Che thinks we're getting "more psychic, generally".His general mood plus this stuff, the determinism etc is what i loved about it. Taxi-Driver 2.
