Peavey Gear?

Massive vintage Peavey fan here. Had a T40 bass that I loved but couldn't get on with the neck so had to part with. Currently use a Peavey Century Bass head (1977 I believe) that absolutely kills for gnarly rock music - and is scary loud for its 150w rating! I have Peavey OEM Eminence speakers in all my 12" cabs (which are mostly old 70s Peavey cabs as well). I have a few PA heads and have been through a few of the Deuce/Mace/etc amps. Really want a Rockmaster or Roadmaster but they don't seem to exist here in the UK. Practically indestructible anything 1980s and before.Peavey is a cheap obsession to have.

Very good for what they are. I've played through my fair share of Peavey gear, and it's all done the job well enough. Our guitarist still uses my old Classic 50 that I sold to him years ago. For the usual asking prices, you generally can't go wrong.

I was playing my Rockmaster last night and I think it's a forever amp. Super versatile. Decent cleans, good gain for days. The 'thick' and 'warm' knobs are entirely usable. There's the sliiiiightest feeling of sterility but I think it's just in my head because of that damn sharp edged peavey logo. Here's one in the states unfortunately. https://reverb.com/item/6622081-peavey- ... -120-watts I think it's worth it for $450 shipped... I've spent more on heads I didn't enjoy as much. (I don't know why people say low-mid gain... with the high input and the pre-gain/pump knob you can get into some hairy territory).

When we were recording our album all of the guitar was through a Classic 30 since my amp was in the shop. (I've actually got a Classic 50 head right now that I'd like to move, in case anyone is interested. It's just taking up space since I'm not gigging, unfortunately)

Just picked up a VTM 60. Peavey was aiming for a hot-rodded JCM800 sound. Has 6L6 instead of EL34. I was looking for a higher gain amp than everything I have where I could plug into direct and get metal. We'll see if it's a keeper, but it definitely nails the Badmotorfinger sound (Thayil used the 120). It's stupid loud and pretty heavy.
