I'd like to do a benefit type deal, but I don't know if this is the best event for it. I think something like All Tomorrow's Impeachments is a format for that. Furthermore, I can't figure out how to get a venue into it, and get touring bands some gas money. I've always felt that working, touring bands should get as much of the door as possible. My idea for these events is to make it the best shows for the bands and the audience and bring the community together. If anyone wants to start lead a charity/benefit side thing alongside, I would support however I can.

If we call a NYC party Choochilla, chooches will show up. Do we really want to attract the professional vaping crowd?

Also, most likely the venue will be in NYC or Brooklyn or (maybe Queens).It s generally a more central area to get to with other cool stuff to do within walking distance for out of towners. That said, if you guys have an in with a venue that d be into doing an all ages night, that d be cool. It s something i d like to do but will be impossible to pull off in NYC.

I am tentatively down for something. If a benefit, it should be for ACLU or SPLC. Jersey City would be great, as it is more convenient for me, but whatever. I can set up mics and run a board - there will no doubt be lots of folks willing to do the same. I can donate a 50W Hiwatt Clone and a 25W Traynor head, and a loud as fck 2x12. I sure ain't using them....Timing is good, except, you know it is soccer season, so I may have other commitments. If there is a tournament that weekend, i am screwed.

I am in Central Jersey (Near Trenton/Princeton). I am sadly not in any bands - hence the non-use of my amplifiers and cab. I don't know JC at all, but I hear it is pretty cool. I don't get out much.

Motorbike guy, where are you? Are you in any band(s) that would want to want to try for a Jersey City show? I've been meaning to reach out to Pet Shop (Vegetarian Food / bar with music sometimes in the basement), but don't know (m)any other bands to fill out the bill.

Who would be ultimate artists for actual Choochella? I'm thinking Dave Matthews has to top the list right?
