Honestly, I bought it because it was light/it did a passable "Flaming Lips"/a stereo cabinet was an interesting feature at the time.That said, it will do/did exactly what you mentioned. I can also remember lots of basement metal bands pairing that cab with a used Peavey Butcher/VTM.

No-name lawsuit Les Paul copy in tomato soup burst. Sunk cost in a series of setups years ago and nobody would buy it for what I have in it already; to want to play it again I would need a refret, since the originals are fairly low profile and flat on top - they buzz like crazy due to the latter and a fret dress isn't an option due to the former. Also, I played a lot of shows that are fond memories with it a few years back, and it has amazing pickups.

my Ric 620. I have a bunch of other rad guitars but this one just feels and sounds right. My ESP Tele and SG Standard are up there too but I always reach for the Ric first.Soldano Avenger. Like an idealized JCM 800. For a while I was looking at other amps for my lower-gain tones, but I ve gravitated away from high output humbuckers, those sounds are easier to find. Mike Soldano is retiring so I might as well hold onto it. The Private Jack loaded JCM 800 cab is the best sounding cab I ve ever played so that stays too.Kowloon Walled Bunny, for the same reasons that Chris mentioned. It doesn t always live on the board but it rocks and my friend made it and every time I plug it in, it s like œoh yeah! Need to steal it back from Mike tho.

I've got an '83 Ibanez that was the bass I played back in the day. Frets are shot, bridge and tuners both replaced with dodgy parts I had lying around, headstock shattered and glued back together, random pickup in there. Someday I might whip it back in to shape and start using it for something. In any event I'll never part with it. I have a lot of re-purposed or modified PA gear that is more useful to me than the cash I could turn it in to, but that's just a practical matter. The old Ibanez is the only thing I have that I'm sentimental about.

I was just having this conversation with my wife a few days ago. I have a considerable amount of gear. Way more than anyone needs. But when it comes down to it, if shit ever hit the fan and a massive gear purge was necessary, I have two items that I will never sell or trade under any circumstances:My 1975 Les Paul Deluxe. Not only the best sounding and feeling guitar I've ever played, but my grandfather, who I was super close with, helped me purchase it almost 19 years ago. Other guitars are cool and all, but in the end none even compare to this one. Just my opinion.My 1973 Traynor YBA-1. I haven't had this too long so it may seem weird to hold it so dear. But I've owned a lot of amps over the years and will no doubt continue to buy others. This amp is the sound I hear in my head. Is it modded? Is it stock? I don't know. But it sounds like the best Marshall ever built and I inevitably come up with riff after riff effortlessly when plugged into it.Oddly I don't really have a bass I'm super attached to. I tend to gravitate towards cheap basses that are easily replaced. Though you might have a hard time talking me out of my Squier Affinity P/J with Dimarzios.
