In a perfect world, should be an A-side.
And that's obviously a much better thread. Title amended.

Bastro - Goiter Blazes (b-side of Shoot Me A Deer, 1989)
[why wasn't this on an album?]
The Monkees - Tapioca Tundra (b-side of Valleri, 1968)
[maybe not as commercial as the a-side but a great Mike Nesmith song anyway]
John Cale - Rosegarden Funeral Of Sores (b-side of Mercenaries, 1980)
[also not on an LP and also not very commercial. Bauhaus' version is even scarier]

The comments section for this on youtube is the best.

Having not listened to my 7” of this in nearly 30 years, it’s amazing what sense memory emerges when I hear it again. It takes me right back to my two room apartment of ‘88 - ‘90, playing records on a cheap Sony turntable hooked up to a boom box. Probably listened to Nice Strong Arm’s Stress City or Scrawl’s He’s Drunk right after this.
The Spinanes Suffice/Halloween Candy single has the better song on side 2.

Wow, there's gold in thar. My favorite is "Does he have other songs that sound like this?"

This song is a gem! Definitely one of my favorite Mike songs.
Scott Walker - the Plague
This feels like something 1967 wasn't ready for, but damn does it give me goosebumps.
Radiohead - Maquiladora
This does everything that I wanted a Radiohead song to do at the time extremely well. I don't know how this and "The Trickster" got left off The Bends.
XTC - Don't Lose Your Temper
So tightly wound, with a ton of killer guitar. I get that Virgin was of the mind that Moulding was the one writing chartable singles at the time, but this song rips.
the bird and the bee - Man
Success for the bird and the bee hasn't ever really been more than getting a song on a soundtrack, but "Man" and "Come As You Were" both deserved better than non-album b-side status.
The Zombies - Walking In The Sun
I know this would have been a single if the group had made it past Odessey and Oracle.

How Soon is Now? is the one that springs immediately to mind.
Had no idea this was a B-side.
I've only ever owned it as the A side of a 12" single, which has a great (instrumental) B-side, Oscillate Wildly.

The Kinks, Mindless Child of Motherhood is one that comes to mind immediately for me.
Song totally slays compared to its lame A-side.

Paul McCartney's Check My Machine is definite A-side material, though not necessarily in the context of his career.

Dog Faced Hermans - Timebomb (b-side of Too Much For The Red Ticker, 1990)
Egg Hunt - We All Fall Down (b-side of Me And You, 1986)
