Yes, I should probably give a few more details. My GF and I will be there 5 days (I believe). We like art, music, food. Gonna hit the big museums I think (Getty, Huntington Library, LAMOCA) and Griffith Park.

We have tickets to see Joni Mitchell at the Hollywood Bowl. (I'm indifferent to JM but by GF is a big fan and there probably won't be too many other chances to see her.)

No dietary restrictions and we're interested in local favorites. We would like to eat at one bougie/fine dining place, I guess, because this is a celebration of sorts. I've heard good things about Providence but I don't know anybody whose eaten there. We're staying in Highland Park

Interested too in good record/book shops, weird or vibey parts of LA. I dunno, this is vague. Also open to meeting up if it's easy for all parties.

Hollywood Bowl: park in Hollywood and walk up. Parking at the bowl is fucked and not worth the headache. If I’m out in Hollywood I’m gonna wind up at the Frolic Room which is always an adventure.

Providence is legendary and it’s also like $400 a head before wine lmao. For a more reasonably priced bougie situation, I’d suggest Republique on La Brea, Camelia in the arts district, or Dunsmoor in Cypress Park/Eagle Rock ish area.

I spend a lot of time in Koreatown, which is unmatched in terms of vibes… there are a billion restaurants encompassing every type of Korean food, so check some lists. I dig the Corner Place for old school KBBQ (get tongue), Dan Sung Sa for a smoke filled drinking den, and Byul Gopchang for intestines. There are also a number of Oaxacan restaurants in Koreatown, including Guelaguetza which is basically the Oaxacan consulate and is fucking bonkers at lunch on weekends

Also: Thai Town in East Hollywood is super cool, has amazing food (Jitlada, Northern Thai Food Club, a billion others)

In Highland Park, the Lodge Room frequently has good shows
