One of my favorite early memories was around 2004 or 2005 when a lot of us made our avatars gifs with smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc. It was just some weird group phenomena. Like a meme but before we called anything memes. It’s also not like a modern meme. But still like a meme.

Another is the evolution of calling each other “Forum Member” ie “FM El Protoolio” as if it is an honorific title. I still think the fact that we did that and still do that is fucking hilarious.

All the themed avatar months were a blast. Even when I was feeling to dim to adjust the size of image searches.

I really loved the "Dear Marsupialized :The Love Line" thread. His ability to weave both intentional and unintentional comedy into his often very serious responses were magical.
