Re: Favorite band / artist in the 21st century so far

I haven't paid huge attention over this period myself, as I keep still discovering stuff from the last 40-50 years of the last century, but a couple that I quite liked are:

Bombay Bicycle Club (have only heard first album)
Savages (again, only first album)
Hot Chip (only know a few things)
MGMT (again, a few things)

yeah I felt a little weird listing "PRF bands" but...
Prior to starting this thread, Bottomless Pit (for obvious reasons) was #1 on my list of 21st century bands I have yet to check out that I need to check out. I think it's fair to say that they are a PRF band. I appreciate ANY suggestions!
Mint Mile and Andy Cohen & Light Coma too, for their more recent bands.

I second (or third or fourth):

Bottomless Pit
Helms Alee (see also: Lozen)
Hot Snakes (I'm always surprised when I remember they are of this century)
Pile
Autolux (mainly the first album)
Kowloon Walled City
Thou
Bosse-de-Nage
Dark Castle (see also, and maybe even more so: Taurus)
Chelsea Wolfe

And add:

Constantines (probably my answer to the thread title, gun to head)
The New Year
XETAS
Survival Knife
Tropical Fuck Storm / MOD CON
Grass Widow
Nina Nastasia
Ludicra
Deathspell Omega
Black Math Horseman

I will immediately think of five more when I hit submit.

Heads up: antisemitic members, if that's a deal breaker.
True, among various other ghoulish traits. The upside is that you have to make a concerted effort to learn anything about them as individuals.

If that is a deal-breaker, substitute Krallice, who probably should be on my list anyway. (Ha, now I'm remembering that Lev Weinstein quote about being a Jew who listens to Burzum.)

Lots of good stuff already mentioned. A few others I've enjoyed along the way...

The Forms
Girl Band
Peaking Lights
Cate Le Bon

I see LCD Soundsystem got a nod already. Have to say, I like them a lot...an utterly brazen, knowingly-fun appropriation of influences, that somehow adds up to more than the sum of its parts. Sound Of Silver might well be my most played album of the last fifteen years or so.
"What am I gonna do with 40 subscriptions to Vibe?"

I talk disjointed music-related guff over here. You're welcome.

Not saying you can't like it. It kills the appeal for me, though.

Edit: man, that interview is a blast from the past. Nachtmystium's orchestra of delay pedals... album of the year?!
