This has been getting a lot of repeat plays. Clams. Out of Osaka. They are dialed-in to the sound and understand the importance of foremost writing good songs. Entire release is but the first four songs are high quality, fuzzy, noisy, memorable noisepop/shoegaze. Not rewriting the book so much as adding a chapter.

Love "classic" shoegaze, although lots of bands lumped on that wagon had little in common.

Loveless must be the quintessential shoegaze record, but still prefer Ride or Swervedriver or even Lush and Venus Beads. Those bands were less shoegazey I guess.

Slowdive were super shoegazey... but meh.

Not to be contrarian, but I've always been a bigger fan of Isn't Anything - it just rocks more. Missed Moose back in the day, but over the last few years have become quite a fan. Big Slowdive appreciator; they make beautiful music. Never cottoned to Ride, though the stray song will worm its way into my life.

The previous incarnation of this thread was mostly focused on a heavier shoegaze (not Deafheaven) style, and I'm interested in hearing about them bands.

It's not as burned into my brain as Loveless, so I definitely find myself going back to Isn't Anything way more. Now that all the EPs are Spotify, I made a playlist of all the non-album stuff, and I kinda think the You Made Me Realize & Feed Me With Your Kiss EPs might be my favorite things they've done.

I love those EPs. Despite having a song or two in common, I don't love Isn't Anything. I don't know if it's the songs, the recording of said songs, or the drumming. I suspect it's a little of all three.

I've been rediscovering and falling in love with this noisy tropical slice of ear candy all over again. Just a wonderful pop record slathered in dense thickets of noise and fuzz. Truly gorgeous music.

I'll usually take Isn't Anything over Loveless, though I really like Loveless, a lot of it sounds cheezeballs to be now. In the Presence of Nothing and Eccsame the Photon Band both overtake Loveless to be nowadayz. I'm a pretty big fan of Horsedrawn Wishes if that is in the running too.

I like Lush more than MBV :gasp:

I like early Lush probably more then MBV too. The sound that guy from Cocteau twins gave'em probably has a lot to do.

When Ladykillers and the album that includes it were released they've become more of a brit pop band. Still good, but less interesting.

Recorded (badly) in a basement "studio", I remixed it and tried to make it a little more presentable but in the end I just sorta gave up and it is what it is. The songs are real nice though and they get into some good rave ups.
