I just don't get it. My kids probably do, so that's ok. I guess.
Once that aural aesthetic is no longer associated with the cultural signifiers that made it outre and daresay "dangerous" or "countercultural" it becomes innocuous and available to anyone who wishes to use it. Buzzsaw guitars in tutti with pounding bass and tight 32nd-note drum beats are as "pop music" as anything else at this point.

Say goodbye to badass.

Not a matter of it being "badass" or not, it's just cookie-cutter, plastic music with a gimmick on top.
