Is the story about the entire mix of the first album being put through a Rat true? I always assumed pedal, but just now it occurs to me maybe an actual rat? Either seems viable.

the new one seemed a bit "duller" sounding at first but then I realised I'd done my old trick of not playing it loud enough.

Under the headphones, at skull-shearing volume, the whole mass of it becomes this throbbing lumbar punch of deep brain anaesthetic. I would call it the "anaesthetic aesthetic" if I was temping for Buzzfeed but I'm not so I won't.
