There are two separate aspects to this: taking the lead in songwriting/arranging, and being the person that does the shitwork (booking shows, setting up the webpage, flyering, point of contact for venues, etc.). It's an important distinction, I think.

I think there's multiple jobs under discussion. Even songwriting/arranging is often a partnership with one person being a fountain of ideas and another being the one to refine those ideas into something coherent and performable.

Yeah I am the principal songwriter in a rock trio so I might be projecting my particulars a bit. It would be awesome to have someone else running logistics.

So this complicates things further.

One job is to include people creatively and to give as much or little direction as the endeavor grows around.

The other is getting people to agree to events, releases, formats and goals, in addition to making those things happen on whatever timeline.

Lots of people skills in both.
