Haha, yeah it definitely didn't come with the Mastery!

That stock bridge is such a joke. I dunno how you could have a bridge so shitty right next to a trem that's just sublime. That JM trem is so musical and fun.

It came with 9s which I took off immediately and put on 10s. Went to do a basic set up and couldn't even get the low E close to intonating, I gave up right then and ordered the Mastery.

In the midst of a massive sell-off and reshuffle. After watching Hi Flier prices shoot skyward and watching the twats at Andertons rave about the 2020 Gretsch Electromatics, I sold my Univox (for twice what I paid for it) and have ordered a black Rat Rod Electromatic hollowbody from my local music store. Also am selling off an enormous black cortex Ludwig 3-ply kit. 12-13-14 rack toms, 16 and 18 floor toms, and a 24" 3-ply kick. Because I am half owner of this kit and the other guy has been very vocal about his love of vintage champagne sparkle drums, I'm sending him my mix-and-match champagne 3-ply Ludwig '60s kit, all nickel hardware 20-12-16 kit. He doesn't know it yet, but he's gonna lose his mind.

Sold off my fantastic sounding Ampeg B25 amp and 2x15. I am also selling a "walnut" Thermogloss Ludwig kit that I impulsively nabbed recently. I played it for a few gigs. The Ludwig 6-ply drums are Ludwig's first modern sounding drum kits and they're so adequate. They sound exactly like you expect modern drums to sound. Kinda not my thing, though. I found out recently that Ludwig 6 ply drums are the drums used on 'Ten', the debut album by Pearl Jam. As you'd expect, I guess.

Also dumping off my Valley Stereo Autogate. $350 on Reverb. Something way more affordable if you're an FM.

What will remain is my original 3-ply maple Thermogloss kit (thanks, FM Weezy), two round badge Gretsch kits (one early '60s blue sparkle 20-12-16 and one black lacquer kit that was a round badge kit that I stripped and nitro-ed because the wrap was trashed), the pink sparkle Gretsch kit, innumerable snare drums, and some other stuff. I can do any gig with those drums.

I'm really looking forward to dragging my '68 Bandmaster and Gretsch hollowbody to gigs where I play surfy twang stuff until I am universally reviled.

If you're interested in the Cortex kit, hit me up. Three plies gonna three ply. Forum prices apply.

I've been selling stuff for way inflated prices for about a year now.
There was a quick dip in prices for high-end stuff last summer, so I picked up some primo stuff that I'd never be able to afford. Now, prices are way up and I started selling stuff that I no longer needed. A couple of langevin EQs and and studer mixers later, I was sitting on a large pile of cash.
Now is a really good time to be selling stuff, but make sure you're not sitting on cash because inflation is kind of out of control.
I love you.

I've been feeling this recently, especially since my day job gives me access to pretty much anything I want. I'm super happy when I play and I realize that I just have guitars and effects that never come out of cases anymore. The only thing that keeps me holing on is the fact that I know that it would be cost prohibitive if I changed my mind and wanted something back. Stupid, awesome gear.

This describes me about 75% of the time, though with everything and not just gear. It’s a fucking disease.
For me, this is the major factor/justifier in hoarding.
I have overwhelming remorse for a list of things sold over the years. Things that just won't be had again reasonably.
I get a great(irrational) sense of security from knowing I won't have to want for certain things.
DIY and die anyway.
