Started as a half-ass rock band whose own songs sounded like covers, turned into a half-tempo action movie soundtrack barf machine.
Crap, no W.
Re: Aerosmith.
12Also, I appreciate that there's no poll. I must assume the default setting is crap.
Re: Aerosmith.
13TRUE. That producer is a real piece of work, and they were actually (momentarily) convinced that Janie's Got a Gun was a Beatles-level masterpiece.M.H wrote: In addendum: the making of Pump documentary (now easily available on the YouTubes) is a masterpiece of stupidity / magnificence. Well worth a watch.

14Clive James on Barry Manilow - not word for word, but close enough: Everyone you know thinks he's terrible. But everyone you don’t know thinks he’s great.
Crap.

15Even post-rehab I guess there's still a little magic circulating in the veins and addling the judgement.penningtron wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 9:43 am ...they were actually (momentarily) convinced that Janie's Got a Gun was a Beatles-level masterpiece.
Re: Aerosmith.
16First band I was ever really into. Toys was either the second or third record I ever bought. Lost interest after about 1984, but their 70s/early 80s stuff is near the top of that type of bluesy rock.

Re: Aerosmith.
17Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were among the top ugliest men in rock and roll back in the '70s. And Steven Tyler is the last person on earth who should be talking about a dude looking like a lady, though maybe that was the joke?
Didn't have much use for this band in the '70's, so I certainly don't now. But I feel like I maybe understand a little bit the people who still like them because I work with some, and they are still into this stuff...

18Imagine a little dick, shrunken and impotent after decades of powdery white drug use. Imagine that four or five of these penises put on a lot of silk, grab their guitars and start a band. Aerosmith is what that band would sound like.
Re: Aerosmith.
19Beatles-level masterpiece would be a big stretch, but this may be Helter Skelter level Bass VI riffing...

DIY and die anyway.

20Anyone else hear the Lick and a Promise riff in here? Or is it wishful thinking on my part?
