I used to work at the Bookmans in Flag and one time I was idly flipping through our (usually piss-poor) LP section and found a used copy of the 2010 reissue of Scrabbling At The Lock for $10 and it made my day.Dave N. wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 9:49 amYou know, that’s the first CD I ever bought, in 1993. I hated CDs at the time, but it was only released on CD, so I bit the bullet. Fortunately my housemate had a CD player (thanks Tonyballzee), so it was in heavy rotation for awhile. I remember you bringing home a dubbed copy of Rid Of Me, and I picked that up on my next trip to Stinkweeds, the second edition to my CD collection. I wouldn’t get my own CD player until I moved to the Tribes House in late ‘94.tonyballzee wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 9:36 am Scrabbling At The Lock is still my favorite (thanks Dave N) but I love everything they do.
And that’s…..the rest of the story!
Re: band: The Ex
12I saw the EX open up for shellac and Fuagzi at I want to say the Congress theater? We all sate down in those theater chairs the had there after they played, we where blown away. Maybe 20 years ago but that made me a fan for life and I feel lucky to have seen them in Chicago a few times before G.W. Sok stopped playing.
Check out Dignity of Labour, fanastic album.

13This thread has made me think about former forum member Sunlore, who i'm almost certain was from the Netherlands, had a strong affinity for the Ex and grew up with them around.
I just wanted to honor him with a post. You were funny and smart.

Re: band: The Ex
16Their website has a poster and very limited dates up for a new album.
Strangely there's not a single news story about it when searching Google..

17I keep having this feeling that they'll never return to the US. Did we do something wrong? ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
