You're probably looking for English late 60s stuff, but if you are into American folk music forms through a psychedelic lens then you might like these:
Edit: Oops, didn't pay attention to the "needs vocals" part. sorry about that on the Fahey.

14Träd Gräs och Stenar, Pärson Sound, International Harvester.
I guess start with Djunglens Lag though you can't go too wrong and you'll know right away if it's your bag.
If it's your bag, there are box sets etc. etc. I have them stacked up now.
Of late, they are playing as Träden. The woman on drums now is outstanding.
One of the guys in Dungen is in Träden--they are also great, though I'm not crazy about every single record, of which there are several and I'm not 100% up to date.

15If you dig those then Jakob Olausson's Moonlight Farm is maybe the best record you've never heard...
Re: Looking for some psychedelic folk...
16I remember John Peel saying that what people now (well, whenever he was talking) consider ‘60s psychedelic music’ wasn’t what people at the time were would have had in mind. He was introducing Country Joe and the Fish’s ‘Here I go again’ which is pretty easy going, with no effects emulating the experience of tripping.BeyondThePale wrote: Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:23 am I would argue that a lot of what gets classified as psych music refers mostly to fairly standard pop songs from the 60s.
Anyway, back on topic I think this fits the bill:
Edit: actually that takes itself far too seriously. Sorry, read the brief dummy.

17Interesting stuff. I especially like the track "Autumn Childhood."
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

18Never listened to this Buffy Sainte-Marie until now...
Almost exactly what I was looking for. And thanks for the many good recommendations in here so far.
Re: Looking for some psychedelic folk...
19Donovan - 'Sunshine Superman' (USA version), 'A Gift from a Flower to a Garden', and 'The Hurdy Gurdy Man'
The Incredible String Band - all of it, I'm a nut for these guys, but THBD is a great starting point
Vashti Bunyan - 'Just Another Diamond Day' + CD bonus tracks
Judee Sill - 'Judee Sill'
Edith Frost - 'Ancestors' EP
Amen Dunes - 'Love'

20Talk about kismet: this recommendation appeared in my inbox yesterday and I just used it as supper music today. Deeply melodic and folky. I dig it.
