Someone from the PNW needs to go on a field trip.
I should be heading to Canadoo some time in the next year and have some friends in the Ham - will try to remember and update.

Cruller for me.

Classic glazed. Specifically, the one from Blue Star in Portland, OR has to be my favorite donut ever.

Came here to drool over exactly this one. Soft, airy, sugar-dusted (preferred over cinnamon), even better if it's still warm. The best variation of this form I've ever eaten was a Malasada from Leonard's Bakery in Honolulu. Life-changing donut.

Lafeen's? That was my favorite (and maybe one of the only) doughnut places when I was there. Looks like it's still around:

Good lord, do I love a beignet. It’s basically a crispier donut. If a beignet isn’t a donut, then neither is a donut hole.

Is a maple bar just under the frosted cake doughnut?

That’s it! Great place.

The best doughnut is custard-filled, but no doughnut ever lives up to its billing.

Long John with custard filling is my go-to if we're talking about pulling one from an assorted dozen from the grocery store or something. I'm not going to get into specific types from mom & pop places. Too esoteric.

Fuck whipped-cream filling though. Nothing worse than picking up a long john and assuming it has custard in it, only to be severely disappointed by some fluffy cream bullshit. Luckily, you can usually tell by the weight. Custard has that heft to it.
