Core is fun but deserves every criticism thrown at it. Kinda amazing they got away with being so pathetically craven to the emerging market. A more innocent time, I guess.

Purple is pretty great front to back, exceptional inclusion of Zep style country rock techniques to the grunge zeitgeist, 'Big Empty' esp. I think this is their one legit great moment.

...Vatican Gift Shop does a patchy dunderheaded Bowie vibe in an almost visionary way but is merely satisfactory when the music's over. Cool move in '96, though, you have to admit.

The rest are pretty meh aside from the singles.

I say crap; very high WF for the good stuff given their rep as a dogshit band. But there ain't quite enough good stuff there.

Too many good songs to vote crap.

watching their vh1 storytellers and it's pretty bad.

My god this band is terrible. 17yo me got exposed to them at great length - Guantanamo style - in the early 90s. Christ on a stick they blow goats people.
