Discontinue the line but keep making the chips and put one in a bag of normal chips, call it Tortilla Roulette or something

They should do an ad campaign with an Alex Jones lookalike claiming the hospitalizations and death were a hoax so The Man could take away your tortilla chips .

I do one of these every year. I like spicy food and they're completely manageable (to me) (on the way in). Fun thing to share with likeminded friends/foolhardy coworkers/etc. Entertaining way to spend twelve bucks. There's a definite endorphin rush (note that I am a lifelong sober person). Fan. However, if they're literally killing people, no need for them to exist.

The MAN doesn't want you turning red! Well I'm going to turn even more red!

Side note: I found myself craving/reaching for super hot stuff (for the first time since my late teens) once I quit drinking for good. Must've been feeling more bored with life or something.

Worst thing with these would be the possibility of flakes getting stuck between your teeth or in your gums.

These kinds of novelty foods are simply the pits. Whether it's something like this, those hot sauces that are functionally indistinguishable from bear repellent, or 20 pound burgers or whatever. Food should be a pleasure not an extreme sport. Just eat a good pear or a make a nice salad.

I agree.

But since, nether of the things you list can be put in a mylar bag and be made shelf stable for months to be consumed by some chud on a whim, we have novelty foods to disgust and disappoint.
