As a search engine? It's all right. Just ignore the AI bullshit at the top and know your sourcing.
People should more than just ignore it due to the massive amount of power AI wastes. Turn it off, or use something else.
Gladly! Know a quick and easy way to turn it off for Safari on a Mac?

I haven't used Safari in a long time but a quick DuckDuckGo* search got me this:

*now asks you if you want an AI assistant but at least it asks first!

Done. Appreciate it.
Update: This actually doesn't work for Google's AI features, only for Siri. A workaround seems to be opening the Web tab when searching, and that filters out the AI bullshit (along w/other stuff, like images and shopping). No idea if it's still using the same amount of power, though, since you're more just filtering the thing than disabling it altogether.

Sharing personal data - crap.
Deep, long established ties with intelligence agencies and govt - crap.
Assisting the IDF to commit genocide - crap.
There are no waffles here.

The AI bullshit is the endgame. You can only ignore it now because they haven't flipped the switch yet.
Google as we know it, even now in its relatively shit form, will be gone within two years, I think.

You can also add the phrase "-ai" to your Google search and it'll get rid of the initial AI results at the top (for now.)
