I don't know, I only made it through about 15 minutes of Black Panther. Most superhero movies are trash anyway for what it's worth, but you should be able to critique art and not feel like a bad person for being unable to enjoy it. I realize there's a lot more nuance than I'm exploring here but whatever.

Was entertained but not I'm not gonna think too hard about the parts that didn't make sense/add up. As a less dumb version of a dumb summer movie, NC.

Dang, It was one of the messiest, badly written movies I've seen in a long time. Had some extremely muddy editing. Felt like it had no idea what kind of movie it wanted to be.
Total crap.

Is it a vampire movie? Is it anything deeper?
That ending was super dumb. 90 minutes wasted. I should have watched Buffy instead.

Banger. Old school capital E Entertainment. Musical performances! Lots of pretty people acting at each other! Shooting the fuck out of some KKK goons!

I avoided everything about this until I could see it, and I just did and I'm glad I didn't have any expectations. I really liked it. It's a love letter to the culture.

Also: Wunmi Mosaku is a living work of art in this. I don't even have the right words to describe her beauty, especially at the very end, besides transcendent.
Also also: I've loved Delroy Lindo ever since I first saw him play Bonafide in Blood In, Blood Out, but I just learned that both he and Ms. Mosaku are British.

Sinners delivers a lot of what I hoped
Lovecraft Country would be, as opposed to the generic fantasy wizard soap opera slop that HBO show rapidly became. In my brain this corrects the wrong done to Wunmi Mosaku, who did her best to elevate
Lovecraft Country.

Saw and enjoyed this bonkers movie tonight. Glad I went in with low expectations.
We watched the list of musicians during the credits.
Among the drummers was . . . Lars Ulrich.
