Wreckmeister Harmonies - Bela Tarr[/b]

Werckmeister.

HAHAHHHAHHHAHHHAAHHH! Typo POSITIVE! For embarrassing me like that Champ, I'm going to kill your puppies.

But I take it you've seen it then... Oponions [sic(k)]?

Nope; I just like to spell.

Actually I Googled it after Emule turned nothing up; it's now happily 'on it's way'. I thank you for your recomendation.

i thought it was great

very sad, great, beautiful wwII allegory

that is a good typo, 'wreckmeister'

i watched _for the love of the game_ on a plane w/the sound off. you could tell what the dialogue was w/o reading anyone's lips. but it's not like it was any good. i watched _bloodsport_ in a motel room w/the sound off ditto.

La Belle et La Bête (early film version of beauty and the beast. it's fucking great)

so good. so, so good. made by jean cocteau, and it is so good. i am so happy to have seen it on a big screen. one of my wife's favorite movies ever.

but if you do not have the sound on, you do not hear the beast say 'behhhhhhhhluuuuuh'

On the Cocteau issue, I have to agree. His work is so beautiful it arouses my inner homosexual.
I had the pleasure of watching La Belle et la Bette with Phillip Glass doing his thing over the top (a live rendition of his score for it that is...)
Great stuff, but I couldn't get over the keyboard he was sat behind (I don't mean physically - this would have been silly. I wasn't expecting him to be sat there playing a Yamaha is all)

Wrong. At the end of the film, Gov. Conan takes the decapitated head of his foe and lobs it off a huge set of stairs (or something). It shrinks as it flies away from him, reannouncing its presence with a hilarious splat sound when it hits the ground.

Komic Gold.

Reminds me of Chuck Jones's determination that you need 13 frames between Wil E. Coyote's speck to disappear and the smoke of his impact on the ground to appear. Any less and you miss the humorous tension. Any more and it drags on too long.

"Jour de Fête" by Jacques Tati must be fun to watch listening to Shellac's "1000 Hurts".

Muri Romani - Jon Jost!

So beautiful this montage of walls in the city of Rome. No need for the sound to be on at all.
