Probably in my youth; I guess these nasty lagers are for the power-drinking mob...

Yup, Fosters is total utility lager. Completely unremarkable but not bad for a school night where conversation is desired and you don't want to feel like shit the next day. Deservedly unpopular in Australia but then they have some of the best and coldest beer in the world to choose from.

I think all UK Fosters is brewed in Edinburgh anyway. It's still better than Carling but there's not much in it.

The Union in Glasgow has Staropramen for £1.90 a pint. Being a student has its advantages

I paid £3.35 for a pint of Grolsch in Edinburgh the other day. That nearly made me cry.

CRAP :WF: 5 I can drink four pints of Fosters and still walk and talk OK; I can't do that with 'Wife Beater' or Kronenbourg...

Is this it? I think it's called Victoria Bitter in Australia.

Yeah, you're right. I've not come across that one before.

Here is list of all the beers/bitters made by the Fosters/Carlton group.

I was wondering wether this stout gave strength to invalids or turned you into one. Such a funny word in-valid.

Beer from a can is crap. Beer from a giant can is even worse.

Example:
Icy cold Pabst from a bottle = good, cheap and refreshing.
Lukewarm Pabst from the bottom half of a tall silo can = tastes like pee.

Or at least what I imagine pee tasting like.

Boring anecdote about Fosters:
The boy I lived with in Germany once purchased 4 cans of Fosters at a gas station and proceded to open one and drink it while I was driving his car. I flipped out and he explained that open alcohol is ok, as long as the driver isn't drinking. Mere minutes later we were pulled over at a random traffic stop, and sure enough, after the officer didn't know what to do with my American passport and MN driver's license he let us go, with the empty cans of Fosters on the passenger side floor not even given a second glance.

Boring anecdote about Budweiser:
Until everyone on my sister-in-law's bowling team got knocked up, we all participated in a pitcher contest during the "Grafton Bowl" league's season sponsored by Budweiser. I drank more Bud-light that winter than I care to admit, but it never really got me drunk, and never gave me a hangover. The comparison to Perrier is quite accurate. It did not however make me bowl any better.

If that's what pee tastes like maybe R. Kelly was on to something. Hmm.

Fosters sucks. But was as already stated, a lot of cheap lagers do. Someone stated that they were alergic to it. Are you sure that you're alergic to the beer or something in their cans? Any time I drink Coors from a can my neck swells up and I can hardly breathe. However, if I drink it from a bottle or from tap I'm fine. Strange stuff.

I am intrigued by this statement. How precisely does the bowling-center management force this beverage down the throats of their patrons? Is it some sort of "two drink minimum, and this is all we carry" deal? How do they deal with teetotalers? Please elaborate.

That stuff is real good.

I don't like Fosters. But I do like Budweiser. Do you think something is wrong with me?
