Wow...um, yes...I would stomp multiple puppies to hear that.
Portishead, in my opinion, is one of the best bands of the 90's. Mysterons is one of the most moving songs i've ever heard.
There are crispy fries waiting to come out of your oven: you just have to make them and put them there.

14Portishead will never be crap.
I can vividly remember the imitators that jumped on the P-head bandwagon. Where are you Poe?
Sneakerpimps, Mono (not the japanese guitar band)
I really enjoyed the rustic man cd too.
It was done with one of the guys from Talk Talk.

17I loved the first two records so much that I can't help but have ridiculous expectations. That was why I was content for them not to make another record.
My main memory of Portishead is tied to a gigantic Citroen estate my mother and I used to ferry our surfboards up the coast. The tape stuck in the car was the first Portishead album and it was played on a loop. For some reason that behemoth of a car had woolen seats, which would itch like fucking crazy against your back if you took your wetsuit top off. Whenever I hear that record I always associate it with surfing and a constant itching sensation.
A unique and totally NOT CRAP band.

18I would like a representative from the "Crap" side to post a justification.
I started liking this band when I first heard "Sour Times" and I have not stopped liking this band since. I maybe took a listening hiatus during my awkward early teen fat kid pop-punk phase, but the less said about that the better.
Thanks for posting about a new record, I will look out for it.

The only record of this "scene" worth two shits is Maxinquaye, and it is packed with filler and Alison motherfucking Gildfrapp.
