the best thing about the low xmas album was I got my parents a copy a few yrs back and so I get to listen to that when I go there for the holiday season
otherwise its the Chet Atkins xmas record and the John Fahey one

i enjoy esquivel's "merry christmas from the spaceage bachelor pad". i can only handle it for about a week out of the year though. unlike most christmas music wich i can't fucking stand at all.

I thought this would be a fun thread to resurrect. I'm probably wrong.
I stand by my selections from last year, and would like to add "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)" by the Ramones, which I guess I overlooked.

I am astonished that no-one has yet mentioned 'Fairytale Of New York' by the Pogues & Kirsty Macoll.
Last time I posted on this subject, on the Popbitch board many years ago, I think I had to ask: "Favourite Xmas Song (that isn't 'Fairytale Of New York')."
I like much Christmas music, especially the Elvis album. But my favourite of all is the Bing Crosby / David Bowie 'Little Drummer Boy' with the full preamble. "'Ello. You the new butler?" Completely fucking bizarre.
