Bailter space, not crap.. but the Gordons are far FAR more NOT CRAP, it makes Bailter Space -- excepting Nelsh Bailter Space, Tanker, Thermos, and Robot World -- sound crap.

Except for the second Gordons album Volume II, which was apparently crap... but only a few have heard it.

I was waiting for someone to point this out.

Alstair Parker's gtr sound and gtr playing with the Gordons was an invigorating thing to hear in the 80s, and is so today.

Has anyone here heard "Gordons II" record then? I just wonder what's so shitty about it. It became kind of mythical crap. Sometimes I like records that are generally perceived as crap.

"NelshBailterSpace" is tricky one. I don't see it as proper BS record. It's drenched in worst elements of 80s sounds, with synths and poppy songs.

I used to be BS fan. Now, I have to admit, I can recognize 'boring' element with them. I guess boredom is closely associated with being repetitive. I don't want to sound too fussy but all records after "Robot World" sound like something is missing, "Vortura" is a scrap book from various recording sessions, "Wammo" is weirdly melodic or poppy, "Capsule", what's wrong with "Capsule"?, I forgot, quasi rap maybe. I wish they had recorded with someone like Steve to get a little bit of harsh electrical dynamics which would fit nicely. For some strange reason I liked "photon" EP and was disappointed (bored?) with last record. However, BS deserves one shiny NOT CRAP.

HDU? They are compared with BS a lot. What's your take on HDU? I lost touch with music in late 90s and skipped some bands. Actually I heard one HDU song which reminded me so much of Shellac that I was put off. Shame on me.
